Dress Code
Gallery Formal Chic
We envision our wedding as an elegant, artful, and celebratory event inspired by the Gibbes Museum's art-filled setting, and we would love it if you helped us match that energy with your attire. So, if you've been waiting for the perfect moment to wear a bold dress, statement accessory, or colorful suit — this is it!
What is the dress code?
Gallery Formal Chic: elevated cocktail or formal attire with an artful, expressive touch.
Are there specific attire guidelines?
Yes. Cocktail or formal attire such as midi or full-length dresses, formal jumpsuits, elevated separates, or suits and sport coats with dress pants are all appropriate. Ties are optional but welcome.
What should I wear?
Think rich color, florals, textured fabrics, shimmery/metallic accents, and sculptural silhouettes. Statement pieces and tailored looks are encouraged.
What about wearing white?
White details and accessories are welcome. We kindly ask that guests avoid all-white, off-white, ivory, or champagne-colored attire.
Is there anything I should avoid wearing?
Yes. Please no denim, sneakers, sundresses, or overly casual attire.
Do I have to wear bright colors?
Nope! Classic neutrals are also welcome. Think black, navy, charcoal, chocolate, olive, and other deeper tones. While we encourage color and expressive details, guests should feel free to wear what feels most like them.
What shoes are appropriate?
Heels, dressy sandals, formal flats, loafers, or dress shoes are all welcome. If they can survive a night on the dance floor, even better.
WE CANNOT WAIT TO CELEBRATE WITH YOU!
